The 2010 London Design Festival kicks off in 2 weeks time. Running from the 18th till the 26th of September, the exhibition brings locations and events around London together in celebration of this capitals design diversity. The main Festival site is located at the V&A Museum with various satellite sites located across London.

Our favourite, Michael Anastassiades, will be exhibiting at the event.

Jean Nouvel’s Serpentine Pavilion in Hyde Park is underway (as is his One London development near St Pauls Cathedral) and makes number 10 for the Serpentine’s prestigious invitation event. One of the largest structures to date, the pavilion is constructed of a bright red steel lattice, fabric and plastic, set out in stark contrast to the green of Hyde Park.

Jean Nouvel will be talking about his design at the Serpentine on Monday the 12th of July 2010. The pavilion is due to be completed in July and will be on the lawn until the 17th of October.

Pulling the location of thousands of Geotagged images from Flickr, Eric Fischer has assembled some beautiful images representing the most photographed spaces of our planets largest cities. The images peak and rise where you’d expect; all those tourist locations feature heavily. It’s an interesting ‘map’ of tourist movement and should help in tracking the best location for your next restaurant.
